A workshop that was led by the Young Educators Alliance. Folks were asked to list of general topics that were important to their communities, then from there participants used different methods to narrow down which topic to focus their work on.
I thought this list was especially interesting—notice the differences between what community members say the issues of their community are versus what mainstream media says.
Pay particular attention to the fact that many of the participants were from Detroit.
